Huddlemindnet.jpg

I’ve recently joined Huddlemind.net the social media based attention hub of (as far as I understand) Dave Duarte and Maximillian Kaizen’s Cape Town based Social-Media-and-Learning consulting type business, Huddlemind, with the great value proposition: We increase your speed of learning and adaptation, operationally and strategically.

So far I’m truly impressed; some great people (about 200 of them at the moment) and promising interest groups and forums converging around various organization development related initiatives, intervention modalities and things generally related to coaching, learning and other forms of corporate culture and efficacy pimping.

My profile page is here, if things like Bohm’s ‘Discussion’ Modality of Interactive Group Thought work interests you please join us.

I’m interested in a whole lot of things in this area and I’m hoping that my participation in Huddlemind in addition to the changes involved in my work-context of my new job at Regenesys (this weekends Secrets of Success in Leadership conference with Deepak Chopra being case in point) will help me winnow my eclectic and perhaps somewhat eccentric interests down to something that I can sustain a focus on for the next few years and hopefully develop some bits of value to contribute to this big and cuddly ol’ world of ours.

REPRESENT.CO.ZA

I’ve been impressed by Represent a couple of times, its one of a handful of local sites definitely worth keeping an eye on, especiall their characteristic blend of authentic home-grown voice and urban street smart, so I’m very pleased they like the DK world…

Whats wrong with news media?

One imagines that ‘News’ is the stuff worth knowing, but instead the news feeds us the stuff that sticks out, the sore thumbs of life. I love the observation Max Kaizen makes in reversing the brain.drain… “… especially after the numbing effect of news. The news presented by mainstream media, (TV & papers particularly) is largely reactive, and leaves us feeling impotent to change the outcome of almost everything we’re offered.

the new UNIVERSAL Google search

The interface design changes that go along with Google’s new ‘Universal Search Model’ – maybe it means Google wants to make more of the decisions for the user, maybe they feel the blended search result types makes specific search types less important – which it probably does.

Google’s New Navigational Links: An Illustrated Guide
… Those vertical search links have been directly above the Google search box for years. Over the coming days, they will now jump to the top left-hand side of the page.
In addition to linking to Web, Images, Video, News and Maps search, there’s also a new Gmail link.

Some Ends and Odds of SEO

SEO Grand PrixITWEB’s new publication ByteSize, inaugural edition (March 2007) features a nice short and sweet introduction to SEO on page 98, geared like the rest of the publications smartly at the SME context. It closes with a url for a Forrester report based on interviews with 20 companies, including Avenue A | Razorfish.

(ByteSize is a pretty decent piece of work, love the cover which is one of the most successful uses of spot varnishing I’ve seen in a while. It features a goldfish leaping out of its bowl, lime green title-typography on a rich blue background. Excellent job, even with the typo in the article on IPV6 on page 146 :-))

One look at that Forester report will make most mere mortals mouth that mystical magic word involuntarily – ‘OUTSOURCE…’, Continue reading
