…just a nation of copycats?

Are we just a nation of copy.cats?
I don’t know about that. I do suspect that a lot of us ‘idea people’ easily become so enamored with our own precious ideas that we forget that ideas on their own, no matter how original or brilliant are utterly worthless.

Or, the ideas’ novelty wears off for the originator before the project garners sufficient momentum in terms of interest and support. Then again maybe we’re just too lazy or give up to easily.

But looking at it from a national perspective it does become a bit of a dilemma. Although innovation and a culture of creativity can improve so many things, when the vast majority of the population are dealing with basic survival issues in dead-end lives running to keep up with self-defeating practices of miss-placed cultural conventions – that’s just not a picture of an environment conducive to the luxury of creative indulgence.

Hmmm, didn’t intend to get so melancholic there, sorry.
