Compressionist Portrait : Leanne

Exploring some ideas around a compressionist reinterpretation of motion capture technique a la portraiture – possibly looking for emergent essence of the perceivable. lea_horz02_200.jpgI recall a lecture back in my university days where in a lecturer was going on about the art historic process of the flattening of representational depth and perspective. (This portrait could be seen as a kind of planar two-point perspective of Leanne’s face in my study:)

I think there must be wonderfully many ways to skin a hologram.

  1. Well i like it, it looks like a catlike humanoid version of myself. i always wondered what that would be like. well done well done. maybe next time we can centre the forehead dot, speaking of which they were a real bitch to clean off so im glad the pic was worth it. (ooh my lips look all angelina jolie)

  2. Sorry about that – realised when i tried to wash the stuff of my hands – next time we’ll use something more model-friendly. Was thinking maybe we could do one of you and Owl, side by side or superimposed on each other. Thanx for sitting for this!

  3. Your lips ARE like Angelina Jolie’s.

I like the picture. Very haunting. It reminds me of early Van Gogh (thinking “the potato eaters” or something like that)with a dash of the rock star… mashed up into a worthy cover for a Neil Gaiman story (Titled something like: “Leanne, Angelina’s Lipstress”).

  4. Osmotic personality, permeable boundaries of self and environment.. Leanne dreaming – or being dreamed ?
