With regards to the invitation to responses included on the document Morton Wagenfeld, Ph.D. on The Salutogenic Challenge (Walden University)
I believe the questions around and inspired by Salutogenesis and the parameters of (Sense Of Coherence) are both important and interesting. I have been contemplating if, and if then how, the Salutogenic model can be applied in other disciplines. For example, of particularly of interest to me is its potential application in the field of industrial-, information- and graphic design, possibly leading to a theoretical perspective on the relationships between formal corporate mass-media- and informal socio-cultural-environt interventions and actions.
I also believe there to be an important systemic relationship between Coherence as understood from Antonofski’s perspective and Cognition as understood by Maturana and Verala. I think it will be interesting to apply the findings of such a study in the context of socio-technological arena, for example by investigating factors that impact on the so-called digital divide here in South Africa and perhaps identifying factors playing similar roles in the development, regulation and public acceptance of various leading edge technologies/practises such as in IT (Computational Inteligence), Pharmacology, Bio-engineering and Government Overview-and-supervision (Especially of Inteligence Components).
That’s off the top of my head, I would very much appreciate receiving your thoughts on these thoughts :- )
