Having thought about it long and hard, I have decided it’s time to compose my Business. Being no stranger to the contemporary meta-post-modernist jungle that is our information-scape, the obvious next step was to gather some advice (I’m much too lazy to disrespect the last x billion years of evolution by setting off to re-invent the wheel).
I do know a fair bit about Design, and my business will definitely be very design orientated. What I don’t know much about is the Business side. So I figure, if I’m going to have a design business, best I start learning about the business of making and managing a business. Call a Friend! So I called a few friends in business.
I phoned Erich Viedge, hoping to get either a pointer to a good book (been wondering about getting one of those MBA While You Sip Cocktails by the Pool books, but their covers are just so damn ugly!). Instead, what I did get was a half hour long initiation in the fundamentals of business, complete with explanations, contextualization, recaps and homework.
