Béo’s naming ceremony (pics & script)

Béo

‘We invite God, our mother and father, all those who love us, seen and unseen, to be with us today. Everything we do today, we offer for our own highest good and for the highest good of all. May this gathering be blessed and guided so that it may be real, loving, powerful and appropriate for all those who are assembled here’.
André Je'anna and Béo (almost 10 weeks)

Here is a new person on the planet. Earth and Sky, Spirit and Matter already know him, accept him, love him and are him. Now it is up to us, his human community, to give him a loving home to rest and belong in, and opportunities to learn and to grow into who he is to become. And so we come here today to name him. A name is a social thing. It gives him a relationship and place among others. We come here today as representatives of all of the people who will ever be a part of his life, to witness his arrival and to let him know that he is truly welcome.

  3. Andre and Je’anna,
Thank you for creating this beautiful moment and sharing it in this virtual manner. The cognizance of it has blessed me. Hello Beo. Welcome to the world, we’re glad to have you. Already your very existence initiates joy in unexpected places. Tania

  4. Hey there Jeanne and Andre and of course, the little man of the moment, Béo!

Thank you for putting the photos and script from Béo’s naming ceremony on the Net. It’s really great to be able to see and read all about it. We wish we could’ve been there with you, but were with you in spirit.

Have Stephen’s folks been to see you yet since their return from New Zealand?

It’s great to still be included in your lives even though it’s over a great distance.

Give your handsome young fellow big cuddles from all of us.

Love, Hugs and God’s richest blessings…

  5. Béo
    if life starts like this
if the name you’ve been given are celebrated with such joy and blessing -imagine the journey ahead!
    May we meet soon!

  6. Dear Andre and Je’anna

Thank you so much for sharing this. Would you mind if I included the link as a resource. So many parents feel estranged from the ritual of “Christening”, but want a process and feel lost or go through with it but are diconnected from it, because the church is not really the community they plan to raise the child in. This really opens the possibility that one can have something real and authentic – something that not everyone is able to claim for themselves and their child.

    Many thanks again.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the follow up.

  7. Hi again – what a wonderful naming ceremony, congratulations to you all and what a blessed family – It is so wonderful to have the knowledge of what to do at the beginning – a spiral system !
